Bob is Not Amused by Nevuela Bob is Not Amused by Nevuela
...and he knows darn well that his message may be lost on some people, particularly outside of Britain. But he doesn't care. Your ignorance isn't his problem. >:3

I honestly had no idea what the "V" sign meant in the UK until just recently. I think, wherever you are, it's probably best to avoid wishing anyone peace or ordering two of something just in case someone takes it the wrong way.

I'm not sure whether to label this pic as "mature content" or not, or what mature content category to place it under, but if anyone does find this offensive, please let me know and I will go ahead and label it as such.

I really, truly don't mean this to be offensive to anyone, especially the British. I'm actually what you might call an Anglophile. If I ever manage to venture outside the US, England is the very first place I'm visiting! (And I promise to behave myself while I'm there) ^_^

The V sign actually isn't used that much anymore because the kids here are becoming more and more influenced by American insults they see on TV and use the middle finger instead. I did the V sign all the time as a kid though, it's just sort of being forgotten now. I really like this drawing anyway!

Interesting. But I think the fact that it's becoming obscure makes it even better. ^__^ For this picture, especially, it could reflect upon Bob's traditionally British (and slightly outdated) upbringing.

So you like to think Bob is actually British? :) I like to think the has British heritage too, actually. Perhaps his parents are British and relocated from England to the U.S at some point.

I sketch all my pics by hand in pencil, then ink them out with a Sharpie, then erase the pencil lines, then scan it into my PC, then color it with VCW VicMan's Photo Editor program. There is a free version you can download. I use that one 'cuz I can't afford the other version.

Actually that's not the peace sign. In the UK, holding up your index and middle fingers with the back of your hand facing outward is equivalent to giving someone the finger. To give a peace sign, the palm must be facing outward. BIG difference in meaning just from the way your hand is facing.

XD XD XD XD XD XD not really. . . It's even more awekward if you're learning sign language, and one of the other students gets one wong, thereby accidently telling the teacher where to stick it XD XD XD XD

I just love his expression. He most definitely is not amused, and just for good measure he threw in the gesture as well. ^^

I was surprised to find about about the "up yours" British gesture; it's like the "V for Victory" but sideways. :XD:
Bob looks really good here, with that UK jersey. :D

Oh, good. Glad ya like it. :3 The shirt was a last-minute idea and I agree, he looks very sexy in it. Wish I had a shirt like that, only not a turtleneck. I'm very sensitive about stuff being so close to my throat. But someone around here made a comment about Bob looking good in turtlenecks, so that's why I've been drawing him in them.
